STATEMENT OF PURPOSE FOR USE OF CHRIST CHURCH FACILITIES

Christ Church Episcopal defines this statement based on the dynamically changing mission of this active congregation. Christ Church is NOT a museum. Nor do we as members look upon our historical church building as a "quaint little wedding chapel in the mountains." Rather, we are an active church of the Episcopal Diocese of East Tennessee. We do not fall under the support of the local Historic Rugby museum, but operate independently from, though cordially with, that institution.

Thus defined as a Church, the use of the church building should reflect a reverence and respect for Almighty God and the joy He has bestowed upon us by the gift of His Son, Jesus Christ. Special services held in the church should be looked upon as times of worship and reflect appropriate church rites and traditions as defined by the bishop or the priest of this church.

The use of "Friendly House Parish Hall", however, though interpreted with a lighter heart, should nevertheless be tasteful, respectful, and reflect the ideas of church, mission, and community.

PROCEDURES FOR THE USE OF CHRIST CHURCH FACILITIES

To schedule use of church and Friendly House facilities, call the Senior Warden. Use of all facilities should reflect the church's interpretation of the ideas of church, mission, or community. Some groups may be too large to be reasonably accommodated by our facilities (See capacity information above). If this is the case, the Senior Warden may recommend other accommodations available in or around Rugby. Rates will be quoted, as appropriate.
